THE CONCEPT

Longtime client, Gina Cooperman of Joy Alexander came to me in December of 2016 looking to revamp her website and brand to reflect the direction her brand was not only heading but already was.  Her children were a little older than our initial meeting (where the artwork was sweeter, softer and more whimsical) and her brand needed to reflect not only her as a mother but also of a business woman.  The words she used to describe her brand and aesthetic were irreverent, fun, creative, quirky but clean.

After only a 15 minute phone consultation, our creative minds were in sync as to the direction and look of the illustrations that would fill her website and branding collateral.  The stars were aligned on this project and initial concept sketches quickly took form of what the final artwork would look like.

THE ARTWORK

Gina had a specific, highly saturated color scheme in mind which I pulled through into her artwork.  The accessories (there are Yeezy high tops on that giraffe) and attitudes of the animals perfectly reflected the irreverent and youthful look that epitomizes the season of Joy Alexander Photography.
