{43Lux} Custom Illustrations

Every once in a while it's really easy to get into an illustration rut which is why I'm so happy to have been commissioned by Priya and Jeri of 43Lux to illustrate three fashion forward gals that best represent their clientele: The Jetsetter, The Life of the Party and The Domestic Diva.

If I do say so myself, I love the way they turned out.

{Maliyah} Custom Illustration

This post has been a long time coming. Last May I was contacted by my dear friend and talented pastry chef, Jocelyn Leffall of SugaPlump Pastries to help with invitations for her little nugget Maliyah's surprise birthday party. It made my little heart swell to see the surprise on Maliyah's face when she walked through the door to see all of her friends waiting for her and to see her custom illustration! Things such as this make me so happy to be doing what I'm doing.

{Glitter For Breakfast and Cupcakes for Lunch}

Way back this summer I was commissioned by Shay from Glitter for Breakfast... to work on her blog header. She wanted to incorporate all of her favorite things and scenery into one illustration. I even got to incorporate some of my favorite illustrations into the frames on the wall. We were both really happy with the way it turned out and I'm so thrilled it's featured on her blog every day!

{Bad to the Bone} Business Cards

So it's a slight departure from my usual work but I had a blast working on this business card for a dear friend of mine who is a manicurist. I love when clients are happy with their illustrations but I am thrilled when they love that it 100% represents themselves and their brand.

{Giselle} Watercolor

Watercolors... the medium that has always been my nemesis. I think I love my Prismacolor markers because I have such control over each precise stroke I make. But a gal never grows if she doesn't try new things. Here's one of the first few watercolors that was inspired by the ballet Giselle. I tend to go a little heavy on the water and contrast, it's a little more Black Swan than Giselle but I think I like how sublime she is.

I was commissioned by Turquoise Firefly (via the fabulous Abbe Fenemore of Studio Ten 25) this past fall to create a series of girls to adorn the walls of their dressing rooms. Below are the girls decked out in everything from Haute Hippe to Rachel Zoe.

It's pretty exciting to see my illustrations framed and on display!

This past fall I was commissioned by Paula Queen of luxury pillow line Pyar and Co to create company "spokes ladies". Paula was looking to create two quintessential Pyar and Co. girls, a California chic cal and an edgy and sophisticated NYC gal. I was thrilled to work on the gals but also to illustrate Pyar and Co.'s amazing one of a kind pillows.

Giselle is one of my new favorite ballets, it's beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. I wasn't halfway through the ballet when I had the urge to sketch this lady. More to come I'm sure.

I was contacted recently by Shannon Gouch of {It Works!} to create a Wrap With Style logo girl in her beautiful likeness. We added golden locksm {It Works!} flyers and her Louis Vuitton bag and voila!

Lash Maxx and Studio Ten 25

A month! It's been an entire month since I last posted. This summer has been super crazy but more posts are coming soon! Here's a project I worked on for Lash Maxx, a salon in Dallas. I've also included some pics of the real deal courtesy of Studio Ten 25's Abbe Fenemore. Abbe is a phenomenal interior decorator, do yourself a favor and check her site out. Hope you like!

{Carla and Freddy} Custom Illustration

I have done so many custom illustrations lately I can hardly keep count, but this one goes down in the records as one of my faves. I've been getting into scenes a little more and was really excited to work on this illustration for Carla and Freddy. The two just moved into a new home and were looking for a fun alternative to moving cards. The subjects were fabulous and the setting was posh. I'm so thrilled with the way it turned out and I wish Carla and Freddy nothing but the best in their fabulous new abode!

{Samantha Oaks} Custom Illustration

I get so excited when I get the chance to illustrate a really fashionable client. Samantha works in the fashion industry with up and coming as well as high profile designers and wanted to be pictured with a few of her favorite things and pets. If you've flipped through the blog, you'll notice that she was pictured in the same outfit alongside her brother and his pitbull. I worked a little photoshop magic and managed to create a portrait separate from the others that she now uses for her own personalized stationary. Thanks, Samantha!
